On 8th December, 2022, His Excellency Rigathi Gachagua, Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya made a technical stop-over in Bujumbura, Burundi on his way to Angola for the Organisation of African Caribbean Pacific States (OACPS) Summit.  Amb received the Deputy President. Daniel Wambura, Kenyan Ambassador to Burundi and Hon. Dieudonne Dukundane, Minister for Infrastructure, Equipment and social  Housing of the Republic of Burundi. The two leaders held fruitful discussions on bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
